January Pancake Breakfast

A group of dedicated volunteers created this years breakfast from scratch. Such a deal! Nearly 200 hungry guests turned up and ate and drank up everything. Thanks, everybody!

Island History - Tallu Fish

Ms. Fish came to JI in 1954 & became the first Curator of Indian Mound Cottage.
Her daughters, Tallu Scott & Betty Smith will share memories of their mother with us.
The event will be on Wednesday, January 26th at 7pm in the Community Room.

Men's Golf

A dozen campground guests of the male persuasion collected at Indian Mound Golf for a hike through the woods, and into it at times. Lots of birds, no birdies. All are welcome to come along, sign up in the Community Room.

Moon Shadow Walk

On January 19, Bud Hodgdon gathered together a band of hardy walkers to enjoy a warm Georgia winter walk under the full moon. The walkers departed the campground, out Clam Creek Road, then around the Clam Creek Marsh. Good exercise and great company! And a beautiful night.

Picasa Photo Workshop - February

 A second set of Photography Workshops will begin on February 7. The class will be based on the free Picasa software from Google, a easy and comprehensive package to manage your photos on your laptop or desktop. You will learn how to import and catalog your photos, simple photo editing to make your shots look their best, and ways to present your images in print and on the web.
The class will meet over 4 weeks, starting at 1:00 PM on February 7, followed by weekly meetings at 10:00 AM in the Community Room. A digital camera and a laptop are required. Illustrated handouts will provide a reference to help you remember after you complete the course. The fee is $15 for the 4 sessions.

This week: an Important Meeting and an Evening Activity

• The Expansion of the Campground meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan 19th at 2pm in the Tent.  Ronnie requested the meeting and has asked that as many campers as possible attend.
• There will be a Marsh Walk on Wednesday, Jan 19th at 7:30pm.  There will be a full moon that evening.  You can find details of the walk on our Blog calendar (see above) and in the Community Room.

Book Group

Book group news-
The book group has agreed to read "Cleopatra" a life, by 
Stacy Schiff for January. This is a Pulitzer Prize winning 
biography. We will meet January 25, to discuss the book.
 
The book for February is " The Confession" by John 
Grissom . We meet the last week in February for that discussion.
